چکیده
Background: The harmful impact of ovariectomy on myocardial ischemia-reperfusion (M/IR) injury has been established in the short term. Objectives: In this study, we aimed to investigate long-term effects M/IR injury. Methods: Two methods involving dorsolateral skin incisions were used induce ovariectomized (OVX) rat model. rats divided into 2 groups: Control and OVX (n = 6). At end hearts isolated subjected global ischemia using Langendorff apparatus. Cardiac Function Indices (CFIs) recorded, including left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (LVEDP), peak rates positive (+dp/dt) negative (-dp/dt) changes LV pressure, LV-developed (LVDP). reperfusion period, measure size infarct, levels nitric oxide metabolites (NOx), mRNA expression NO synthase (NOS) enzymes, endothelial (eNOS), neuronal (nNOS), inducible (iNOS). Results: Compared controls, had larger infarct by 51%, higher LVEDP 29%, lower recovery +dp/dt, –dp/dt, LVDP 22%, 35%, respectively. Furthermore, heart tissue, that underwent significantly concentrations nitrate, nitrite, NOx 79%, 82%, 83%, Additionally, these eNOS 38% iNOS 71%. Conclusions: deficiency estrogen increased decreased tissue rats. Imbalanced NOS expressions associated with exacerbated responses

DIDS reduces ischemia/reperfusion-induced myocardial injury in rats.
BACKGROUND/AIMS Anion channels such as chloride channel are known to participate in the regulation of a wide variety of cellular processes including development, differentiation, proliferation, apoptosis and regeneration. This study was designed to examine the effect of the non-selective anion channel blocker 4,4'-Diisothiocyanostilbene-2, 2'-disulfonic acid (DIDS) on cardiac function and apopt...

Objective(s): This study investigated the protective effect of tanshinone IIA sodium sulfonate (TSS) on ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) induced cardiac injury, and the underlying mechanism of action. Materials and Methods:Male Sprague-Dawley rats were subjected to a 30-min coronary arterial occlusion followed by 24 hours' reperfusion. Half an hour before the left coronary artery ligation, rats were ...

متن کاملHydrogen Peroxide‐Responsive Nanoparticle Reduces Myocardial Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury
BACKGROUND During myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R), a large amount of reactive oxygen species (ROS) is produced. In particular, overproduction of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is considered to be a main cause of I/R-mediated tissue damage. We generated novel H2O2-responsive antioxidant polymer nanoparticles (PVAX and HPOX) that are able to target the site of ROS overproduction and attenuate the...
متن کاملGinkgo biloba extract postconditioning reduces myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury.
We examined the protective effects of Ginkgo biloba extract (EGb761) postconditioning on myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury in rabbits. Four groups of 8 white rabbits were allocated to: pseudo surgery group: the left coronary was lined without blocking for 160 min after thoracotomy; ischemia and reperfusion group (IR): the left anterior descending coronary artery was blocked for 40 min and ...
